Canam13 Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 Hello all, I have 2 wright/mcgill casting rods that have micro guides. both rods have broken guides that i need to repair, but having a hard time telling what size are the guides. measured the closet ajoining guides on the rods with digital mic and listed the results below. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. 1st rod - outer ring is 4.4mm / lenght is 7.25mm 2nd rod - outer ring frame is 5.00mm / lenght is 6.58mm I looked on mudhole, but the just give guides sizes, not exact measurements. thanks Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted June 22, 2018 Posted June 22, 2018 Guides are sized by the ID of the ring not the insert. Any other dimensions are incidental to make and model. 1 Quote
Super User islandbass Posted June 22, 2018 Super User Posted June 22, 2018 That’s good info to know DVT! @Canam13: perhaps a phone call to wright and McGill could help you get the appropriate guides? Because the rest of a guide’s size other than ID can vary as DVT states, it might behoove to call them and eliminate the chance of accidentally buying a guide the correct “size” but with differing other specs. Who knows, they might even offer to send you those two for free especially if it’s still under warranty. Quote
Canam13 Posted June 22, 2018 Author Posted June 22, 2018 Thanks for the info guys. I will give them a call first, before ordering anything and will measure the ring ID this weekend. Quote
