TylerT123 Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 What kinds of fishing do you do? Spin? Fly? Blast? (Not techniques but types) Quote
Super User .ghoti. Posted June 21, 2018 Super User Posted June 21, 2018 I use casting most, spin some, and fly occasionally. No blasting. Crappie cops tend to frown on explosive fishing techniques 1 2 Quote
BassinFLNY Posted June 22, 2018 Posted June 22, 2018 Spin, I fish a ton more saltwater so it’s what I’m used to, I also use bait cast a bit, and a little fly 1 Quote
Moto Posted June 22, 2018 Posted June 22, 2018 I used to be a big spinning guy but suddenly I became the biggest baitcasting fan ever. I use it everywhere - for trout, bass, and even sometimes sunfish! 1 Quote
Glaucus Posted June 22, 2018 Posted June 22, 2018 Mostly spinning due to my preference for weightless plastics and finesse techniques, and living in the north where vegetation isn't typically too thick - lots of clear water ponds, quarries, and lakes for Largemouth, and rivers and creeks for Smallies. I'll use a baitcaster when necessary due to unusually thick vegetation, worming, jigging, and reaction style moving baits. 1 Quote
Super User new2BC4bass Posted June 22, 2018 Super User Posted June 22, 2018 Baitcast. Recently picked up a couple used spinning rods for finesse. 1 Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted June 22, 2018 Super User Posted June 22, 2018 Mostly spear, some noodling, the occasional par buckle and I'm just now starting to get into ninja action. A-Jay 1 5 Quote

(Not techniques but types) Many types since I have a open mind. I do micro fishing for tiny little fish to freedive spearfishing in wrecks, reefs, and bluewater. For bass I have fished with spinning, baitcasting, fly fishing,2 foot rods, yo yo reels, etc. Wreck fishing is also fun since its a tug of war game with very powerful fish. 2 Quote
rtwvumtneer6 Posted June 22, 2018 Posted June 22, 2018 I watch a lot of YouTube and then pretend like I'm really smart and I'm spending that time on the water. Really, I'm on my couch where I have pretty good luck with swedish fish. Bass Baitcast 80% Spin 20% I have a fly rod that was a gift, and only use it when I fish with the buddy who got it for me. Once in a while I'll get some chicken livers and head to a private farm pond and catfish with the ole ugly stick. One in a blue moon I'll throw some powerbait on the bottom and gut hook some trout for lunch. 1 2 Quote
