Been looking for a cheaper spinning reel that still has decent quality and can handle weekend type bass fishing. I don't use spinning gear too much, so did not want to spend a lot. Sometimes spinning gear is just what is needed. Any suggestions? give price if you know it. Thanks.

Pflueger Trion.  $39.99 at Tackle Warehouse.  Probably a bit cheaper Online.  Okuma Avenger is the same price.  Not familiar with the new Mitchell's, but they might be an option.

Pfleuger President.  You'll never buy another one

I will get flamed for this, but I have 2 Shakespeare excursions that I have had for over 10 years that have seen a lot of water time, from 20 to 100 trips a year river fishing, and are still going strong, heck they have held up better than my Daiwa Regals. They can still be had at Walmart for 20 bucks. The only thing I don't know is if the quality of the new ones is better, worse, or the same than my old ones.

Another vote for the Pfleuger president. Best spinning reel for the money imo at around $50.

The trion mentioned above is also a solid option and is about $20 cheaper than the President. Both are pretty comparable.

I know a guide who used older Trions for bass and pike. I tried using one of his, once, and it flexed like it was made of rubber. I started bringing my own reel along after that.

I have couple Shimano Siennas and white not the smoothest, they’ve held up to quite a bit of abuse in the past 2 years.  Also - the Okuma Stratus (Dick’s exclusive) can be had for $30 when on sale (just last week).
