Sharkicane Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 I have only had it for a few months and I am probably a little to hard on it but all things considered I still really like it for the $$$ I paid. However I am having a few issues with my KastKing Assassin I do not think it is anything major probably something more experienced people have had issues with and know simple fixes for. My first issue is line tends to spool up more on one side then the other, even if I respool it only fixes it temporarily. My other issue just happened recently but the little metal insert in the line guide has come loose and sometimes if I pull my line or cast to hard it pops out and hits the first eye on my rod. I am thinking some super glue will fix this? However I wanted to get some feedback before I played doctor on my reel. Quote
TylerT123 Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 I’d use a little bit of epoxy on the line guide instead of superglue. The spooling issue sounds like the worm gear needs greased..? Quote

I cleaned up the line guide I noticed the pawl is kinda loose is it suppose to be that way? I tried to tighten it some but it didn’t seem to want to tighten up all the way. I’m going to respool and grease the worm gear tomorrow hopefully that will help Quote
Super User iabass8 Posted June 22, 2018 Super User Posted June 22, 2018 You might be missing a spacer than goes under the pawl cap. The pawl will not make continuous contact /w the levelwind if not kept in place causing binding/uneven line lay. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted June 22, 2018 Super User Posted June 22, 2018 Is the line guide pausing? The pawl should free float a bit, since it needs to move to follow the recess in the worm gear. Quote
