Does anyone use Cashion rods? I use them for CB, square bills, jerkbaits, and top water. They are great rods and I never hear anyone mention them

they look like great rods, just not widely available. How do you like the grips?

I will have to throw in my BPS Carbonlites and they are mentioned alright, but it seems to be all bad. I am up to ten now and started trying them in 2010, adding 2-3 each year to the present and all came on sale.  With all the wailing about breaking in half, line guides falling off and line guide eyes falling out, I can honestly say I have never had a problem with mine and believe me I would not have tolerated it with all the other rods to choose from.  The Potomac massive grass beds are not kind to rods.

My Cajun Custom Rods Delta is the best rod I have ever fished in the 200-250 price point. Its good enough to keep me from looking for much else and just add more of them as needed. They don't have a huge selection of lengths or actions but I for one don't need technique specific everything. I do need a good rod that is sensitive, durable, not super fast in action, and made with quality components.

This rod checks all of those boxes.

Irod Fiber. Feel like it should be mentioned more in the $100 rod debates. It's smoked every $90-$120 rod I've used. Though I haven't used the Fury which seems to be THE rod in that price point.

Gen 1 Quantum Smoke 7' M/F casting rod. Ive yet to find another rod as light with better balance same  power with very good sensitivity at any price. Its also been very durable with 7 years use as my most used rod.

This one was the first that came in to my mind when i read the title! It´s one awesome rod, super light and very sensitive. I often pair mine with my Aldebaran, the entire combo weights +- 8oz...  super fun to fish with!

Falcon Lowrider. I own a couple $100+ rods. The Falcon is far superior to the other.

Falcon and Fenwick both don’t get enough recognition. A surprisingly good one is Cabela’s Rods. Their ZX tournament series is probably one of the best Rods in the $100 segment

Okuma Helios. Light, sensitive, well constructed. If it didn't have that Minima reel seat, it would be perfect.

Very few bass rods today are made in the USA, most are assembled in the USA using off shore blanks, all use off shore components like guides, handles, reel seats etc.

Saint Croix higher end rods, G. Loomis higher end rods and Lamiglas higher end rods have blanks made in their factories. Lamiglas Infinity series bass rods are state of the art rods that get very little coverage. My ALX custom rods use Lamiglas blanks* for example.

Tom

* Lamiglas used 3M Nano resin for the original blanks that Pure Fishing now owns and that has impacted bass rod offering.

I believe Cashion Rods are made here in the USA. Not 100% sure on that so don't hold me to it

I really like them. Took a little getting used to but they are nice. Super sensitive rods

I picked up a Berkley series one rod last year, heavy action, I believe it’s about 7’3”. Super nice action, light weight rod for pitching. I’ve had a number of Berkley rods over the years and enjoyed them all. Still have a couple 7’ Hank Parker series lightning rods in the mix, great rods for burning heavy spinnerbaits for Great Lakes smallies.

Definitely. I got their frog rod on sale for $80, and it's great. Love the grips on it, too. Sadly, I think they're being discontinued.

My late fishing partner Fred used Cashion crankbait rods and Loomis swimbait, jig and worm rods. The Cashion rods are good, light weight with carbon composite handles that take some time to get use to. Not sure where they get their rod blanks? Cousins is another west coast rod maker popular with salt water anglers and gaining popularity with bass anglers. My guess is the blanks are made off shore because nearly impossible to lay up blanks cost effective in California with all the regulations.

Yea I’m thinking about picking one up for that reason, even though I don’t need one by any means haha

A few weeks back, they didn't even have the ZX rods listed anymore on their site. My local Cabela's was getting thinned out, too. But I just looked, and now they have them back on their site, so who knows?

I really like falcon. I have a few lowriders, a cara t7 and a buccoo sr and they're all really good sticks. I have a digit after 7 blackout I bought cuz I needed a cheap rod fast and even with all the horrible reviews my expectations have far been exceeded.

I have one of those after 7 rods and it is one of my favorite rods to throw finesse jigs on. Usually don't leave home without it

That's the other $100 rod I have and it's good. Mine could probably be better, but I have the frog model. It could double as a pool cue.

I think they updated the models because they had them $20 off for a while before they went MIA.

What are some rods you love that get no publicity? It seems with so many offerings a lot of really nice gear flies under the radar.

I love Falcon Cara rods. Very light and sensitive American made rods for $200. In fact I like it better than some of my more expensive rods. You just never hear anything about them.

I have owned a few Falcon rods and love them. I have a Cara now and it is by far one of my favorite rods in my arsenal. Love the Lowrider series as well. It seems to me that Falcon gets slept on for some reason. Great rods built in The U.S. of A. and very affordable for what you get.

Very little talk and virtually no retailers...at least in the north...for Temple fork Outfiters.

Great rods, priced well.  I tripped over them years ago at Sierra Trading Post, bought three because they were crazy inexpensive ( <$50! ) and I was going to use them as back-ups and loaners...and when they got here, I said "Holy cow, these are nice rods!" and have been using them ever since.

Honestly, I try to use lower cost rods as I fish from the shore and in creeks. I value toughness, but still want some sensitivity. My rods range from Shimano, Abu, Castaway, Daiwa, Deep South and Lews. They all serve their purpose, but the Aird X is possibly my favorite. It's so light and sensitive that I can drop a cast wherever I want it. Right now it has a Spartacus on it. The Deep South Elite Tubes spinning rod I have is strong and sensitive, I'm a fan.
