riverbasser Posted June 15, 2018 Posted June 15, 2018 Looking for another crank rod, one that will throw both 5-6xds as well as handle smaller 1/2 ounce cranks. I love my 1st gen quantum tour edition but the new one are either too long or the recommended weight range is too low. I stumbled on the new Powell endurance line and they have a 7'5 MH composite that seems would fit the bill just curious if anyone has one and how they like it. Feel free to recommend any others as well but I'm not looking to spend over 140-150 and must be 7'6 or less. Thanks Quote
Super User burrows Posted June 16, 2018 Super User Posted June 16, 2018 I just got the new Powell endurance glass composite 610 medium moderate fast for square bills I’m really happy with it so sensitive for a composite i can feel every little tic tic and can tell when I’m hung up on grass but yet it’s got enough tip to rip them out of grass but yet still extremely forgiving to keep those trebles pinned I highly recommend it. You’ll love this series of cranking rods. 1 Quote
CroakHunter Posted June 16, 2018 Posted June 16, 2018 I throw 1/2 and 3/4 ounce lipless cranks, 5&6xd, and bandit ledge 250's on a 7'5 cabelas tournament zx crankshaft. Been super pleased with it. It has winn grips which are nice and doubles as a nice deep water spinnerbait rod. Quote
KP Duty Posted June 16, 2018 Posted June 16, 2018 I've been considering an endurance cranker among others. Sure seems hard to decide on crankbait rod these days. That endurance looks sharp for sure. Quote

My understanding from what I have read here is that this line is no longer being made. Cabela's has 4 models left in stock. The 7'5" isn't one of them. I did a quick check on ebay and couldn't find one there either. Quote

riverbasser Posted June 18, 2018 Author Posted June 18, 2018 @Burros thanks for your response. How is the action? They seem to all be listed as moderate fast but there is no standard for this. How would you describe the action or parabolic bend? Thanks again Sucks not bein able to hold one in my hands Quote

Thanks again Sucks not bein able to hold one in my hands Its got a good parabolic bend but it’s not a noodle, it’s hard to explain? I can tell you this though I like it way better than my e6x7 foot medium heavy fast cranking rod, now that rod is definitely a noodle. I previeously owned a Powell deisel glass and that was a really great rod but it lacked sensitivity it felt like glass because it was glass but great action this rod has that same action but with a ton of sensitivity. 1 Quote
Super User burrows Posted June 18, 2018 Super User Posted June 18, 2018 What other rods you been considering? Quote
riverbasser Posted June 18, 2018 Author Posted June 18, 2018 @Burros Well I'm partial to the quantum tour edition line but to get the weight range I'm looking for I would have to get their 7'10 which is more than my locker will hold. Not a deal breaker but not ideal. I've also been eyeing the all-star nano 7'10" MH at academy. I dont know anyone who has one but it feels good in my hands, same issue with length. The Powell is the only other one I've considered that's in my price range and they are spoken well of. 1 Quote
