Lefty76 Posted June 15, 2018 Posted June 15, 2018 Curious to know the heaviest swimbait you would throw with this Curado model. Thanks 1 Quote
kenmitch Posted June 15, 2018 Posted June 15, 2018 I'm not sure. I guess one would have to experiment with it to see what the reel and your thumb can handle. I guess it would depend on how far you wanted to cast it in the end. Shorter casts probably wouldn't be to bad while longer casts might make your thumb smoke depending on lure weight. Quote
papajoe222 Posted June 15, 2018 Posted June 15, 2018 Put it on whatever rod can handle the bait \. The only thing you need to concern yourself with using that reel is your retrieve speed, but I like to work a swimbait slow, and that reel is ideal for that. Quote
Lefty76 Posted June 15, 2018 Author Posted June 15, 2018 One thing I noticed is that as far as new reels on the market very few have a 5:1 gear ratio. Quote
Super User WRB Posted June 15, 2018 Super User Posted June 15, 2018 Only limitation is line capacity. Tom Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted June 16, 2018 Global Moderator Posted June 16, 2018 I use a 200B for Bull Shads but it'll fish bigger baits, just can't cast them a long way because of limited line capacity. Quote
