Anyone using this for smallmouth it looks like it'd be a smallmouth killer if so how do you rig it and what color

Beaver style baits large and small will catch d**n near everything that swims.  Most popular ways to rig it are texas rig and as a jig trailer.  Try darker colors for stained or dirty water, and the more translucent colors for clearer water.
