Has anyone ever used these?? I keep seeing them pop up in ads and online.  They look really good but sometimes lures catch fisherman not fish.  Wondering if anyone has had luck with these ? Specially on smallmouth

No brown bass where I fish but it has been a very good bait for the largemouth. Best results for me have been to fish it like a jig. But sometimes they will smash it when you are burning it back for the next cast. Then you know to switch to a swimming retrieve or burn it & kill it.

Was wondering if anyone would comment. I was getting worried nobody had ever used them. I fish on Lake Erie up until about July and they feed on gobies an such and hoped maybe this would be good. Glad to hear largemouth like it also. Are they worth the price ??

I've got 4 or 5 now and I really like them so far. No monsters on one yet but lots of smallies in the 12-16" range. They fish well in most all cover types from what I've experienced on the river. As far as price goes, you are definitely paying for the Megabass name, but they are very durable and I haven't lost one yet due to a snag

I think they are. Megabass is usually top quality. The bait has been durable also.

I've caught a few smallies on mine, it's the ayu one with a purple bottom. I've also got it snagged a bunch of times so the chin below the line tie is pretty chewed up but it still works. I prefer the 1oz option, my brother caught a 22lb Norther pike on the white/chartreuse version. Swims like a Jig, pricey but it works.

I cast them out and drag the bottom and reel up any slack. Couple of pops and bang, fish on.

I've got a couple to imitate gobies where I fish, and I haven't really found them to be any more snagless, or effective, than a jig. They are less sensitive because there's no exposed metal to feel the bottom, but I feel that there's a time and a place for them, so pick up a few if you fish bottom baits for smallies.

Had a lot of success with them this year for both smallies and walleyes.  They are designed to go along the bottom horizontally, fairly well through light/moderate cover.  I think it’s easy to buy them too light though. 3/8 oz is too light to be effective for me, the 1/2 oz is only good down to about 6-8 fow, then I go 3/4 oz 8-12 fow and an ounce deeper than that because a steady medium/fast retrieve bouncing off cover/structure works best IMO.

Also, I started out using fluorocarbon but switched to braid/leader.  You want to cast these out as far as you can to get them in the strike zone across the bottom as long as possible.  The thinner braid just flies a lot farther than fluorocarbon and sinks well enough with smaller diameter..

I use them here in Florida. Great little bait that has caught me some decent bass when things slow down in the summer or colder weather.

Quality is questionable, especially considering the price point. I ordered a Megabass Dark Sleeper and it arrived missing the eyes... now I don't think bass are really going to care about eating a fish without eyes, but if the bait comes apart during shipping... just saying

Yeah that shouldn't happen. A dab of super glue and you're good to good though.

I usually experience a lost eye or 2 after a handful of catches.

Yes, you'll lose an eye sometimes. I pluck them off when I open the package and gel superglue them on first thing. That bait was a monster for me this season. Worth every penny. I freak when I'm running low and buy more. I have a box full of them ready to go. BTW, that bait was the one thing that convinced me that bass do care more about baits with eyes, in my case anyway. I purposefully bought different paddletail baits with eyes and my catch rates went through the roof. Previously I couldn't catch a cold with a Keitech or any other paddle tail without eyes fishing the same waters in the same spots. Maybe it's the extra flash, Who knows? But I'm a believer now.

We have Walleye in 2 lakes in my area. I've caught 99% of mine on the Shirauo Dark Sleeper 3/4oz. Same as you, medium fast retrieve scraping and bumping along the bottom.

Most productive "new" lure this year and just below Keitech paddle tails for most productive of any lure.

Yes the eyes fall off easily but the durability of the body for me has been great, no loss of tail on any. Plus mend-it can be used on the fins/nose when they do start to tear. Used 1/2oz the most in 20-25fow
