shatam Posted June 11, 2018 Posted June 11, 2018 Has anybody else had poor customer service with garmin. I ordered a new gt52hw-tm transducer back in april they told me it would not ship till june 4, disappointing but still I waited anxiously. June 4th arrived and they gave me a new ship date of sept. 6. WTH. This is an older model transducer that they should have in stock at all times or the very least be able to get it within a reasonable time frame. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted June 11, 2018 Super User Posted June 11, 2018 A quick google, and found one in stock. https://www.thegpsstore.com/Garmin-CV52HW-TM-Transom-Mount-Transducer-P4702.aspx Almost everywhere that sells them is out of stock. How old is the unit? Quote
FordsnFishin Posted June 12, 2018 Posted June 12, 2018 Dont get me started on lowrance customer service ive had lately. Quote
Super User webertime Posted June 13, 2018 Super User Posted June 13, 2018 The GT Transducers had their production stopped when the Lowrance Suit started and they went with the CV Transducers. Once the suit was settled they announced they would be re-introducing the GT series. Seems that the initial production run has been delayed. Still a bummer, but not uncommon. 2 Quote

It is taking longer to work through the transducer changeover from CV to GT and ramp back up production than Garmin originally planned. I show a 5-8 week wait on the Garmin website. This is an estimate and they hope to beat that. Exact, reliable dates cannot be provided yet. Quote
RHuff Posted October 24, 2018 Posted October 24, 2018 Everytime I have ever dealt with Garmin's customer service they have gone above and beyond. 2 Quote

tander Posted October 25, 2018 Posted October 25, 2018 I have had nothing but great support from Garmin. You are probably lucky to get that type of transducer at all. Quote
Maggiesmaster Posted October 31, 2018 Posted October 31, 2018 I’ve only had to contact them once about a (supposedly) defective cable. They shipped me another one right away. Turned out, I didn’t have it fully plugged in! 1 Quote
doughboy1979 Posted November 2, 2018 Posted November 2, 2018 I don't own a Garmin yet, but I am in the market and will be pulling the trigger soon. I have spoken to customer support service with Hummingbird, Lowrance, and Garmin. Out of the 3, Garmin support seemed to care about me the most. They actually took their time explaining all of the features of their products, what I need and DON'T need, what works with my boat/setup now, and what to consider down the road. I have decided to go with Garmin once I get some funds free'd up and along with xmas right around the corner. Sorry to hear about your experience with Garmin.... Quote
FishyGuy Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 I know its a delay but you should be happy that they are not shipping you the older ducer that did not really have the downscan/sidescan elements due to that lawsuit with Lowrance. There's quite a few people that were very upset that Garmin would not update their pseudo side scan ducer. Quote
contium Posted November 21, 2018 Posted November 21, 2018 Garmin, Hummingbird, Lowrance, Motorguide, Minn Kota...I've experienced poor customer service with all of them at times. Quote
