with Garmin and all that makes you think what hummingbird and even lowrance will try to do to 1 up it........ (maybe live 360?.... one can dream)

a Garmin trolling motor would be pretty sweet with all the other stuff they have coming out!

A microcomputer in a fishing reel? Sounds interesting but I hope it's durable and waterproof, and that the brakes still work mechanically when the computer does fail. If it's all they are making it out to be that could be pretty sweet though especially for skipping and stuff.

Edit: Guess I've been living under a rock, the technology itself isn't new but I guess for that price range of shimano's reels it is.

I wonder what diawa is bringing to the table?

Hopefully a mid range casting rod without Eva foam handles

If it helps me skip, I’m in, because I can only do it with a spinning rod....I know, it’s user error

Berkley is coming out with 16 new topwater hard baits it looks like.  One looks like a whopper plopper knock off:

I am interested in these Berkley top water lures.  We do not have a bait store in the Owosso/chesaning area. I have to go to cabelas out post in Saginaw (which sucks) or Hicks in Clio ( mainly walleye gear). I bet Walmart would carry some of these Berkley top water stuff.

Isn't Frank's over your way? Have you ever tried Jay's in Clare?

Franks and north woods is about an hour away.  I have never been to franks.   I think jays in Clare is way better than bass pro or cabelas. I try to stop by when I am heading up north alone.

Hicks is actually a a very good store that is priced reasonable .  Hicks is where I bought my Accurist baitcaster from . they have a decent selection of bass stuff but, it is  mainly walleye a walleye store.

My issue is I work 13 days in a row untill a day off with a lot of 10 to 12 hrs days.  Also a new 9 month baby at home. It’s either shop for tackle or fish.  I do buy stuff online but, some stuff I like to see in person first and I like being in fishing stores.

You tried the Arashi wake crank? Love that bait. Caught my PB on it this past February.

Wouldn't it be interesting to have a 10-foot cane fishing pole introduced at ICAST?

Like the ones used back in the 50's and 60's.

They were not highly sophisticated, but they did catch bass, bluegill, crappie and catfish with no problems.
