That’s a white crappie. Maybe. I’d like to see the top fins and I’d be more sure.

Only pic I managed to snap...the color on it was beautiful. Good guess tho. Note those little prawn like whiskers on its belly. Thanks @Scott F

@soflabasser seems like it might be. Closest guess I’ve got so far. Only difference I can see is the lack of spots.

 

Its gotta at least be in the same family. Crazy thing is we caught it in a river and it’s essentially an aquarium fish native to Asia.

It's a gourami for sure, not sure which variation, but that's what it is.

Its a blue gourami or a type of gourami for sure. Not all blue gourami look the same just like not all bass have the exact color pattern. Might be a fish that someone released into the river and maybe there's a small population of these fish in your area. Might be a good idea to tell your State DNR about this catch. South Florida has a very healthy population of exotic fish from Asia (bullseye snakehead, clown knifefish,etc) and South Florida is +10,000 miles away from most of Asia.
