Trying to catch the big one!

Hey guys, I fish a small 3 acre private pond once a month. The pond has bluegill, trout, crappie, and largemouth.  It has a very healthy population of all species and is well managed. There is 1 or 2 MASSIVE largemouth bass! I'm talking a 9 and 10 pounder! I haven't had great success in this pond but the few fish I've caught were very healthy. So my question is how do I catch these behemoths? There is a dock,  brush piles, and sunken trees. Any advice would be much appreciated!

Use tackle of sufficient capacity to handle the big one.

And fish a Jig & Craw trailer around the docks, brush piles & sunken trees.

Two good pieces of advice, especially using tackle up to the task.  Hooking and having a fish of that caliber break off does both you and the fish an injustice. You, because you were up to the challenge of getting it to bite only to loose it.  the fish, because you’ve put it in danger of not surviving the ordeal.  Any line still attached to the lure could become entangled in the cover trapping the fish from escape, resulting in its death.

Be prepared and good luck.   BTW, bring a camera.  We’ll want to see some pics.

7'3 mh  fast action rod with a Daiwa Tatula ct type-r. With 40 pound braid. I think this is a pretty strong combo?

Most certainly bringing a camera! My goal is to catch one of these beasts before the year ends!

The way I see it the more  fish you catch the better the odds of hooking up with a big girl .
