VolFan Posted June 9, 2018 Posted June 9, 2018 On my Okuma Citrix Travel rod the other night, the top 3 sections worked their way loose from the reel section, and a horrible noise was heard on the cast as the small piece of the upper end still in the lower ferrule cracked the female ferrule for about 1/4 to 1/2 in (and then went flying 30 feet into the water). The total length of the ferrule is about 1.25 in. Would y'all think I can get the ferrule re-wrapped and aggressively epoxied and be ok for a while? Quote
Super User Angry John Posted June 9, 2018 Super User Posted June 9, 2018 Pm dvt or call him. Depending on the rod it my be cheaper overall just to replace. 1 Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted June 10, 2018 Posted June 10, 2018 If I'm not mistaken that rods $100>. Since it's a travel rod shipping should be reasonable. Contact me to discuss if interested in repair. I'd put a thin fiberglass sleeve over it, wrap and epoxy. Quote
Stephen B Posted June 10, 2018 Posted June 10, 2018 Given its availability and affordability, I wouldn't repair the rod unless there is some attachment. The cost of repair and shipping will be enough to make me just buy a brand new rod unless it was expensive. I see the rods brand new for around $80-$90 Quote
Lyman X Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 First, sorry for the late response. Those rods come with a lifetime warranty. You might want to contact Okuma. I have found them to be very helpful. Quote
