Super User Mobasser Posted June 17, 2018 Super User Posted June 17, 2018 Ive been using a medium fenwick with 6- 8lb for all finesse fishing. I'm going for a medium light next. I think for lighter cover, its the way to go. Farther casting distance, and a slight tip flex would help cushion 6lb line Quote

The power and taper are almost perfect, but the tip could be just a bit softer. I prefer lighter and shorter spinning rods due to a dislike of large/heavy spinning reels. Some of the new guide train layout's use much smaller and lighter guides. The avid x spinning is a good example. I use 2000 daiwa reels on all my spinning rods and do just fine. I am not racing like some people who need a 3000 high gear for speed purposes. I have a 72ml mhx rod that I have yet to try for ds. I had it doNE for trout and panfish. Should give it a shot I think.
