Eagle Cuda 168 Portable Fish Finder. do you all think this would be a nice choice to put in a jon boat that doesnt have a trailer and gets treated roughly? i figure i'd need a portable since i drag it on the ground, throw it in the pickup, store it upside unprotected in the woods.

anyway, how is the product itself? is it nice? worth the 100 bucks? it got all perfect reviews on bass pro. would it be a good investment for the weekend anglers (my dad and myself) to help us get to know the areas we fish?

thanks for all of your input guys.

(paul {hawg caller} dont you have a cuda? how do you like it?)

It's what I use. Its worked great with all day use almost everyday for two years with no problems. If you watch online for bass pro to put it on sale you can get it for less. I would suggest the portable for what you are using it for.

I too considered the Cuda 168. Wound up buying the Bottom Line 1200 currently on sale at Cabelas. It will go under the tree with a St. Croix rod and bunch of other fishing stuff! I have a 12 foot jon and the portability of the Bottom Line is what the deciding factor was. The side looking sonar should be neat also for looking towards the shoreline in shallower water.

I think it's probably one of your best choices.  I have an Eagle (500c) on my jon boat and it has worked flawlessly.  Eagle makes great stuff.
