Wurming67 Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 Need your opinion.I have a BPS pro qualifier 2 that has a gear ratio of 6.8:1 on my soft body swim bait rod and a Daiwa tatula CT 6.3:1 on my toad rod both are on Dobyns fury rods ,I got two Inexpensive Lew's blue carbon reels7.3:1, I was thinking of switching them out to the Lew's cause of the higher speed, what would you do? Super User fishnkamp Posted June 5, 2018 Super User Posted June 5, 2018 I would not make any changes to your setups. You are using your best reels on your two setups. 1 1 Quote
Wurming67 Posted June 5, 2018 Author Posted June 5, 2018 Thanks for the reply! I was thinking needed more speed for toad, but after thinking about it the soft swimbait would be good with 6.3:1 Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted June 5, 2018 Super User Posted June 5, 2018 I'd keep the Daiwa, sell the rest.............and buy more Daiwa's. 1 1 Quote
Wurming67 Posted June 5, 2018 Author Posted June 5, 2018 I put the BPS 6.8:1 reel as my toad reel didn't think there was that much of a difference between 6.8 and 7.1 plus the quality of bps seems better than the Lew's carbon blue and put tatula 6.3 as my soft swimbait reel.Think it was right move? OnthePotomac Posted June 5, 2018 Posted June 5, 2018 I am a die hard Shimano fan, but had a proqualifier (great little reel in my opinion) the same speed on a frog rod for a couple of years and it performed flawlessly. Gift cards from family and the reel trade in program prompted me to trade it in for a $50 credit on a new Chronarch MGL. 1 Quote
