Hey guys, wacky worm hook question. I'm trying to decide between using an Owner 2/0 or the Neko size 2.I've heard great things about both. I do not have any weight in the worm btw. Thanks for any help!

What brand Neko hook are you referring to?  Brad

Personally I use the Gamakatsu octopus hook in either a 1/0 or 2/0. Those seem to work quite well for me. Although I haven't used that specific owner hook, I can speak from experience in saying that they make fantastic tackle.

I haven't used the other brands, but I've used the VMC Neko #2 hook for the past few years, love it, no reason for me to try anything else

I found a relatively new tungsten company that makes great weight wackey hooks. FLW angler Jim Sparone started the business its called Wicked Weights.

If you want to put weight to a wacky presentation, the below hook is made by Gamakatsu and as an added benefit adds more shimmy to the presentation.  All of my buddies who wacky rig really like it.

Difference in 2 and 2/0?

kwaldeier,

Hooks get larger from 1/0 to 2/0 to 3/0 and so forth. But, they get smaller as you count up in the opposite direction without the "/0" appended to a numeral value;  so below a 1/0, you have 1, then 2, then 3 and so on and each of these is smaller than the one before.

I have a few 14 hooks that are so small and I use them under some circumstances when I am fishing for bluegills.

That is correct and if asking for them you need to ask for a "number" 1 vs a 1.0 (1 ought).
