spinning rod recommendation for Daiwa BG2500

Hey there. I fished a lot as a boy and didn’t fish for many years until recently. Now I’m obsessed. I fish exclusively on lakes and ponds for bass - bank fishing. I like to do some finesse, but also like spinner/Chatterbaits and would like to use top water frogs too. A little bit of everything.  I have pretty much decided on a Daiwa BG 2500. Looking for a decent spinning rod for it. I was thinking 7’ Medium/Heavy? Budget would be $50 - $75 range. Any suggestion/*** would be greatly appreciated!

When you're bank fishing, is there a lot of trees/bushes or are they open areas? That will kind of help determine what length rod. Lots of great rods in that price range, don't think you can go wrong with the big box brand name rods. MH/F 6'6 to 7' is probably your best all around rod for those techniques.

Asking a rod to do finesse and frogs is asking a lot.  Assuming you mean "light" when you say finesse.  Finesse doesn't always mean "light".  I am basing my suggestion after reading ww2farmer's informative posts on these rods.  Daiwa Aird X 7' MHF.

Aird-X, and Lightning Rod Shock time again.

 

For what you want to do, if these rod interests you, go with the 7' MH in the Aird-X, or the 7' M in the Lightning Rod shock.

 

Both are pretty similar in power, with the edge in power going to the Daiwa, and the Shock being a little softer. The Daiwa is a better built rod, and while both perform well above their price points, the Aird-X takes a back seat to no sub $150 rod.....yes they are that good for that little amount of money. I have replaced all my Lightning Rod Shocks, Abu Vengeance/Vendetta/Veritas, and other misc. "budget"  rods with Aird X's and Fuego's. IMHO, they are the new "standard" in best bang for the buck budget rods. The only downfall either has, is they are not offered in a huge assortment of technique specific length's/powers like the Abu "V" series rods, but they offer enough to cover the basics, and since many of the rods in both lines are so versatile, they do multi-tasking well.

I've purchased a few rods the past 8 months.  You are making me think I need a couple more....the Aird X 7'3" MH and 7' M.
