bass I saw my first bass in person today!!

I was having real trouble catching bass guys. Like 1+ years no bass. I stuck to some Glenn advice, and stuck with a local dock fisherman and just watched. No fishing. Just watching and talking. Learned exponentially. I was using 20 pound mono. He was using 6 pound. He caught 8 bass. I was fishing the right way. Wrong equipment. My line was so heavy, I couldn’t see it moving and lost my Senko quicker. You guys might see my first bass here soon. All thanks to the BR community. Thanks again guys!

That's great! Always good to watch better fisherman to learn some things! Sometimes though it just doesn't work out... I'm not really convinced it comes down to the line though tbh. It's so windy here that using a 6 lb line... you aren't going to notice line movement lol. It's likely a subtlety in the technique somehow imo.

My line, since it is heavier. Actually makes it harder to tighten the line and not move my lure. I was simply reeling the lure in instead of tightning the line on my weightless Senko.

Well, I could see how a smaller diameter line would be more aerodynamic... The wind catches mine so often I can never tell tbh.

The thinner line should help with the natural fall of a weightless bait along with the ease of being able to tell whether or not your bait has been taken. Cheers and good luck.

Congrats on taking the time to learn and not giving up. 

 

My first year of fishing I caught one bass. 

 

What seems simple now wasn't so simple then. Like rigging a bait straight so that it looks natural.

 

Give it time and learn one or two techniques at a time. Focus on those techniques and take your time. It will pay off. By the way, the learning process never ends and that's part of the fun. 

 

Just wait until you meet the bait monkey...
