MoistMax Posted May 30, 2018 Posted May 30, 2018 I'm going down there on a late summer trip and wanted to know how the lake was doing right now. if anybody has been out there and is willing to say whats going on it will be greatly appreciated. Quote
buzzbaiter83 Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 Norris is up big right now with the water in the trees. It was really trashy last week with logs floating everywhere. Largemouth are in the grass in the coves. Smallmouth have moved out onto points and islands. Stripers are at the mouths of coves. Walleye are biting good just off the main lake. Crappie are back on the main lake mostly up the rivers. It will be the Dead Sea in a few weeks and the bite will get tough. Smallmouth should still bite decent down the lake but they’ll be deep on points and humps. I’ll be back there around the end of June fishing a tourney. Message me and I’ll let you know how it is then. Hope that helps. 1 Quote
38 Super Fan Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 I can't offer too much in the way of pointers, late Summer on Norris (and a lot of lakes in that area) is always tough. Expect a grind. Quote
BassNJake Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 The water is up about a foot and a half above full pool. LMB seem to be scattered from inches of water to 30 ft deep. I went both days this weekend caught a good LMB and a SMB on a deep hump that meets the main channel using a drop shot.(Palmers Junction) I fished that hump for about 3 hours and only managed the 2 bass but was marking a bunch with my sonar. I caught more fish in the Lost Creek area but they were smaller.(few from docks and points leading out towards main lake) Got ran off the main lake area between Loyston Sea and Lost Creek pretty early Sunday because of the pleasure boaters/jet skiers, I was marking a bunch a fish so that was a bummer. Gonna start out in the Loyston Sea area next week to see if I can t get on some before it gets too crazy out there. 1 Quote
