I use the Strike king KVD finesse spinnerbaits. They just work. ;)

I use Strike King KVD for the most part as well, but I think that size and color matter more than anything. My last KVD lasted only 25-30 fish before it broke apart.

My 12 year old son goes through a lot of tackle so I bought him a handful of $1 Wal Mart spinnerbaits in the same white color that I usually use. Like me, he throws some sort of paddle tail trailer on it and he catches fish on those $1 lures as well. Once my next KVD blows up I'll probably use the $1 spinnerbaits as well.

So my suggestion is worry more about size, color, and a trailer rather than brand.

As long as it has a quality ball bearing swivel they all work well . I dont use   the wal-mart 1 dollar specials and other super cheap baits because the blades dont spin on the drop .

Just have to keep in mind what type of water clairty your fishing and if you need to go for flash = willow blades vs thump/vibration Colorado.

For maximum thump, vibration, & longevity Stanley Vibra-Wedge Spinnerbait!

I’ve caught more fish on $1.00 Walmart spinnerbaits than anything else. I have some sweet looking KVDs and some other brands but I used to catch a lot more on spinnerbaits with the small junky ones for some reason.  My fish are frugal...

Also for that inbetween thump and flash you can use Indiana blades. Same idea as Colorado blades only smaller and a little less thump.

War Eagle and Terminator are my spinnerbaits of choice. I also like the Lucky Craft SKT Crazy Colorado Willow spinnerbait. For inexpensive spinnerbaits I generally go with Booyah.

Where I fish there are pickerel/pike/musky that will bend and break a normal spinner bait so I've found it best to use Terminator spinner baits. They are more expensive but worth every extra penny.

My wife and I own about 70 spinnerbaits. Picasso, Booyah, Strike king, Yamamoto, War eagle, Lucky craft, Terminator, Stanley Northland tackle, and Culprit.  The main thing to me is the wire,  hook can be sharpened, swivels and skirts can be changed out. Even eyes replaced. But there no answer for a weak wire.

Some really good advice on selections from low budget ideas to the really top-end lures.

I'd watch a handful of primers on spinnerbait fishing, almost certainly one can be found here on this forum, articles, too.

And, I'd recommend watching Rick Clunn's video on this lure and its presentation. He learned from two of the best spinnerbait anglers of all time by most people's reckoning. Clunn mentions that one of these anglers used spinnerbaits year-round, all circumstances, not just in certain situations. I think KVD has some excellent thoughts on them, too, and few know how to manage moving presentations better. Finally, Scott Martin has at least one video where he focuses on spinnerbaits, uses them to pull monsters out of those Florida waters he fishes.

Nichols Pulsator Metal Flake Spinnerbaits. Great quality and a good color selection to choose from

War eagle, eco pro, sob. All 3 worked for me.

I don't use just one.  Siebert's Cosmic for thick weeds.  The Strike King Premier from DSG are great for rocks, wood, and mixed vegetation.  Booyah Vibra wire work as a gen purpose.

Best value in all of fishing right here.......

Plus, you get the added bonus of knowing that you will put the hook on wrong EVERY SINGLE TIME.  Keeps you humble.

Has anyone checked out Angler Assets spinnerbaits? They are a smaller company but are available on TW. I ordered several of them directly from them a few weeks ago and they are REALLY nice.

I’ve always had a lot of luck with Terminator titanium’s and steel. They rarely fall apart even after many fish. Very durable, even the steel ones.

I bought some Booyah Vibra ones and thought they were too heavy. But I’ll give them another try.
