Largemouth21 Posted May 28, 2018 Posted May 28, 2018 I had a cheap popper I bought for about 50 cents at Walmart a few years ago, it caught me a ton of fish. Pike and bass loved it. Somehow I managed to lose it but it was only 50 cents so not a huge problem. The problem is that I cannot find any poppers without rattles, when I fish the fish are already actively feeding and the water is completely calm so there’s no need for that. I think they could potentially even scare away fish. are there any brands without rattles it is there away to disable the rattles in current ones(I have some pop-Rs and Booyah Boss pop Quote
TylerT123 Posted May 28, 2018 Posted May 28, 2018 I don’t know about regular poppers but I have a Booyah Popping Frog that doesn’t have a rattle. Stay away from Booyah’s Cranking/Diving Popper, I bought one and it dives when I try to pop it. You could drill a small hole in your current poppers and glue the rattle components to the inside of the bait. 1 Quote

BuzzHudson19c Posted May 29, 2018 Posted May 29, 2018 Rapala makes a good popper without rattles, or at least they did last I knew. 1 Quote
Super User soflabasser Posted May 29, 2018 Super User Posted May 29, 2018 You can make your own wooden poppers without a rattle if you want. Its not that hard and there's many online sources that teach how to make these types of lures. You can paint the wooden popper whatever color you want as well. Best part is that you will have the satisfaction of catching a fish on a lure you made with your own hands. 1 Quote
RPreeb Posted May 29, 2018 Posted May 29, 2018 The only poppers I have with no rattles are my 2 little Hula Poppers. 1 Quote
