Nashua Nev Posted May 27, 2018 Posted May 27, 2018 I have relatives in Longs S.C. --- any LM , SM or other freshwater fishing in this area ? I probably will not have a boat, not sure when i will be visiting again. I am here now for a couple days. Possibly in Aug. I know the ocean is right there. I fish mainly sm/lm bass as well as pike out of NH. Big pickerel ? Snake head ? what else do they fish for fresh water in the area ? Quote
Super User Sam Posted May 27, 2018 Super User Posted May 27, 2018 Sorry, I have no information on fishing Myrtle Beach. Others will give you some input to consider. What I will tell you is that you have to be very careful when fishing fresh water ponds in South Carolina. Alligators live in ponds and you want to avoid them at all costs. So be extra careful when you approach a pond or are fishing. Alligators are sneaky and are much faster than we think. Have a fun time in Myrtle Beach and let us know what you caught. Quote
RHuff Posted May 29, 2018 Posted May 29, 2018 I would go to bass pro shops at North Myrtle and ask them if they recommend any local places to fish Quote
Nashua Nev Posted May 29, 2018 Author Posted May 29, 2018 Thank You guys. major mental note on the gators. Quote
CUFisherman Posted May 30, 2018 Posted May 30, 2018 Can't really help you on places to go but I do know you won't find small mouth fishing in the Myrtle Beach area. I know you said freshwater but I'd think about some inshore fish (redfish, trout, or flounder). You can check out SCDNR website for some information. http://www.dnr.sc.gov/fishing.html Quote
