Avalonjohn44 Posted May 26, 2018 Posted May 26, 2018 My New(ish) motor trim isn't working. Trim down is good, trim up does not. It worked about a month ago, and since then there is not hydraulic fluid stains or any indication that there is a leak. I figured connection or relay, so popped the hood and checked wires. I disconnected the two trim wires and reconnected and immediately the motor trimmed all the way up without hitting any buttons. I trimmed it back down with the button, but the up still didn't work. Jiggled the wires, looked for crimps, or breaks to anything out of the ordinary, but found nothing. So I disconnected the wires again, reconnected, and it auto-trimmed all the way up again... Does this sound like a bad relay or something else? Thanks in advance! Quote
kenmitch Posted May 26, 2018 Posted May 26, 2018 Does the issue go the other way if you swap the relays around? 1 Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted May 26, 2018 Super User Posted May 26, 2018 It sounds like a bad relay to me. You might want to be on the safe side and replace both of them. 1 Quote

Good Idea, did not try it, will do so after the rain quits.. 48 minutes ago, Jig Man said: It sounds like a bad relay to me. You might want to be on the safe side and replace both of them. Even though it's still under warranty, replacing both of them is cheaper than just the gas to get back and forth from Bass Pro twice... Quote
Super User WRB Posted May 26, 2018 Super User Posted May 26, 2018 Do you have a bow trim switch? There is a trim switch on the throttle, side of the motor and optional bow switch, check them before fooling with relays. Tom 1 Quote

Other than loose wires/switch being leaned etc... Edit 3min later to add: WRB, I just ran out and checked the bow trim switch. I pressed up, and after hesitating for half a second it trimmed up. Now the throttle and motor trim are working too... What the hell? Quote
