Looks to be about 24-26 inches long so I'm going with 9.46lbs

Id say around 7-8 lbs. I don't think its over 8lbs but you never know as its hard to determine length and girth for a picture. Nevertheless, great fish!

Private.  My largest public water fish was around 6 to 7.

Thanks everyone!  My guess was between 8 or 9.  I've held another 7 recently and she was a bit heavier.

 

I'll measure the three fingers supporting her belly later and get a good length estimate.

Seems like the owner of the pond does a good job at keeping his bass well fed. Won't be surprised if you catch a +10 out of that pond. Congratulations on catching a nice bass, I would say it could be over 24 inches long and maybe in the high 7 pound range and possibly over 8 pounds. Next time bring a scale or a tape measure to measure its length and girth to get a more accurate weight.

Unknown girth =75% length avg LMB.

The fish in the picture below weighed an even 8lbs.  You & I are of similar build and in both pictures, we kept the fish in front of us instead of pushing it forward.  The head size, lengths & girth of these fish look very close, so I believe you can call it an 8 with a clean conscience.

I am going to say 6-7, but pictures can be deceiving so it's really tough to tell.

 

here's a trick to help you out. Compare it against your index finger to your elbow. I know that for me (6'3") that runs exactly 18.5". So it's much easier to estimate the say 5" over that 18.5" than the entire length.

 

I figured this out when I caught both the largest bass and largest smallie of my life last summer on a rowboat and had no scale.

I'd guess around 7.5-8.

 

I caught one that looked to be similar in size several years ago that was maybe a bit thinner that was 24.5" long, 14" around, and 7.51 pounds. I'm 6' 220 for reference
