Minnkota stopped making the v1 foot pedal (oval connector (that's key), slide speed control (for ID))

for my perfectly good powerdrive made in 2006. It turns on and off,  and speed works But no left or right..

Do I really have to tape a hockey stick to it and fashion a tiller? Or do you wise and experienced bass guys have any ideas how to fix or replace the apparently unfixable and unreplaceable Already called the Fins and Feathers guy- and he is the mac daddy repair guy in Mass I'm told. BTW He likes the hockey stick Idea, got a kick from it (he has been working on these motors from the start - he cannot fix it and has no working pedals in the boneyard)

Anyway- I def need one if anybody has a thought to work around this - or one I can buy.

I started thinking, "2006, I can't believe they're not making that part any more..."

...and then I thought about it a bit and realized that was 12 years ago.

Makes me feel old...

Have you checked E-Bay?

I guess that after 12 years, if I had to buy a new trolling motor, that's what I'd do...I tend to replace mine on about a 4 year rotation anyway...

Or Craigslist?  There's a used, 36 volt Terrova on Craigslist for $800 near me...I'd prefer that to a PowerDrive

There's this: https://wausau.craigslist.org/bpo/d/minn-kota-bow-mount-trolling/6605551711.html

If its the one like I had (oval plug) I was able to take it apart and put a thin shim under the left and right switch contact. Sorry we are talkin 15 years ago and I forgot what I used.

found one on craigslist in Michigan - grabbed it-

There is also one on ebay with the bidding at $260.00 and a few days to go. !! Thats a high price for a  cruddy pedal ;)

Guess I'm not the only one out there with a hockey stick taped to the unit?

Thanks for the input guys - next move will be an Ultrex- next time .. hopefully, a while from now.

I know a local trolling motor repair guy that everyone uses who can typically find or fix anything, let me know if you ever need help. His boneyard is impressive

Glad you got it worked out...and hope you can make your move to the Ultrex soon.  You won't regret it!
