problem with 80# minnekota vector 3x

ever since i got this motor (last febuary, it was a store display gander mountain) it has had quite the vibration, i noticed the other day that when i turn the prop by hand it feels like there is a bunch of little hangups, what i mean is that the prop doesn't spin smoothly it is kind of jerkey. I have only had the motor about a year and like i said it was a display and i have no recipt so no warrenty. could the shaft be bent? i took the prop off and there is nothing wrong that i can see.

I've never been asked for a recipt at the Minn kota warrnenty repair guy. He just looks at the serail # located under the head and fixes it.

Call Gander and ask who fix them in your area. Leave out the part about display model.

The feeling of little tight spots is normal.  you should feel about a dozen clicks in a full revolution.

The vibration still could be a bent shaft if you hit something. dont think a bent shaft is covered.  

But a worn  nicked prop can cause problems. Many suggest to take it off and rotate it 180 degrees.

It is more than likely a bent shear pin. That motor for some reason will vibrate like crazy if there is the slightest bend in the pin

does yours squeak when turning the handle?  Mine does and it's driving me nuts.  Makes me wish I had my MG back.

The 3X works well but it wasn't their best venture. The cam system is going to make noise.
