I got a Pfluefer Supreme XT on ebay for $110 which I'm not sure you will find again but if you can, I'd be all over that. I had a 20% off coupon code around xmas to get it that cheaply, but I would say it's similar to a Curado and will put the Tatula CT or Casitas to shame. It's a lesser known reel, but a very nice one and having a six pin centrifugal brake setup, it's good for both pros and beginners. If you don't trust ebay or whatever, then maybe the Fuego. Lews also has some good offerings at that price point. I don't have the Supreme XT, but smalljaw67 told me they are very good reels for the money. He went and bought a second. I know Dan used to tournament fish and has used some very expensive gear. He has always given me good advice. Personally I have an older Trion (the one with an aluminum frame) and the older blue Patriarch XT. Both perform very well. 1 Quote

The Tournament MB is hands down the best in that price range. It performs just as well as my BB1 pros and Tournament ProGs. Buy it and don’t look back. 5 hours ago, Tywithay said: PMEMDAY It's only valid with certain sellers, but the Fuego is available. The one I used it's $69.95 with a free reel pouch, but the code knocks off 15%. Seller is triacetackle2016. Know of any participating sellers who sell Lowrance fish finders? I’m about to pull the trigger on an Elite 9ti but I’m looking for a deal ? Quote

I have two Tatula SVs, the Pflueger Supreme Xt and a Shimano Curado K and some cheaper reels and the Supreme XT is probably smoothest reeling and the lightest (and also has the highest drag rating). It holds the line of a Curado K and is lighter than the Curado 70. It brakes almost as well as Tatula SV and casts further. It's definitely the best value of the above reels and just might be my favorite. I really can't recommend this reel enough especially if you can find it for $110. It's still competitive at its full retail price of $150. Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted May 24, 2018 Super User Posted May 24, 2018 I am all in on Fuego Ct's, almost every casting reel in my boat is one now. I own multiple's in each of the 3 gear ratios, and use them for everything. Quote
Lasher Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 Now I need to explain to my wife that $59 for Fuego CT is the best bargain and she needs to go ahead and lock down my fathers day gift. Should be a fun conversation. Quote

I'm gonna say the best $100 reel is the Tatula Ct or Fuego CT off ebay but , I bought a Tatula Ct Type R for less than $120 on ebay. Better reel than the standard CT imo , better spool bearings and a tad lighter. Quote
