Just have to say that after some great advice here on BR I took a single rod and practiced on nothing but Texas rig and wacky. Worked nothing but these two methods for the past couple days.

Took me a while but I landed several nice sized  Bass. Feels good to take the time to study and practice and get a great return... thank you all who took the time out to give me great advice. .

Good ol T-rig seldom let's you down. Learning to catch fish on a T-rig is what made me fall in love with bass fishing.

Sometimes to learn a new technique you have to leave the other rods at home and just fish what you have with you. I did this with jigs. :headbang:

So true! This is how I finally gained confidence with swimbaits.

tic tic tic  and the rod gets bent. oh dear load i love it. it is a close runner up to buzz bait and topwater. but it is a great way to learn something is to go one on one with a tactic and work it till you are good.

@Eric J glad to see you added a new technique. Never stop learning and the sport of fishing will always be exciting.

Until the frog bite really takes off, I'd say about 85% of all the bass I catch are on a weightless T-rigged Senko.  I use other methods and enjoy them but when I just want to catch fish and I am on shallow stump-filled flats, it don't get much better than that

Texas rigging a worm is the one technique that works in any kind of condition.  The thing that makes the T-rigged worm so good is that you can throw it in weeds or open water, on hard bottoms or soft bottoms and you can fish it fast or slow and it will work. Congrats on sticking with it and landing some fish, well done!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good stuff, man.

I remember years ago, I didn't wanna touch a plastic worm, or any sort of t-rigged plastics. Or even a jig for that matter. I was younger, and I just didn't have the patience.

Finally one year I told myself I'm gonna force myself to fish both. And it opened up a whole new world. Not only did I start catching more (and bigger) bass, but it felt more rewarding to me when I did have success. Having to work them just right. Having to really pay attention to the feel, and watch the line like a hawk.

To this day, it's probably my favorite technique (jig more than worm).

I'm personally a big fan of the berkely ribsnake on a 1/4 t-rig. It feels like cheating sometimes. Best part, it let's me do the stand up in the kayak, Elton John style hook sets ? lol

Congrats on adding to your technique arsenal. It's a great feeling knowing you have at least a few ways of catching them. I need to do that with drop shots and also try a Ned rig. Keep doing that with other techniques and before you know it there won't be a way you can't catch a bass. ?

Positive or negative Glaucus? Elucidate...

Positive. The feeling is always so good. Specially when you successfully set the hook after the tapping.

Your going to find out all these baits really work. When you have the color and presentations down. Put plastic worms in the Arsenal for sure.

congrats for sticking with it.
