yellowcard129 Posted May 18, 2018 Posted May 18, 2018 Anybody have a trick for a tube jig head blowing through the head of a tube? I only get about 5 fish per tube because the jig head rips through the top of the tube. I tried a number of different tubes maybe there's a brand with a thicker rubber head? Quote
heavyduty Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 Happens to me as well. You can go elaztech (zman) and they will last much longer. You can take their 4" tube, cut it down to make the length you want and super glue it back together. I save my tore up regular plastic tubes and spend a rainy afternoon in the shop with mend-it gluing them back together. You can rig them with with a draggin head/hitchhiker and heads seem to stay intact a little longer but I still prefer the tube weight inside the tube so I just chalk it up as the price of fishing tubes..... jr231 Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 5 fish per tube... Sounds like you're getting more than your money's worth to me. 3 1 Quote
Super User smalljaw67 Posted May 19, 2018 Super User Posted May 19, 2018 Get a 1/4" hole punch and use it to punch some small disks from a plastic gallon milk jug. Take a razor blade and make a small slit in the center of the 1/4" disks you made from the milk jug. Now take you tube jig and pop the hook eye through the slit on the plastic disk and then insert into the tube. The plastic disk will create a larger surface area that the jig head will be against keeping it from getting pulled through the wall of the tube. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted May 20, 2018 Global Moderator Posted May 20, 2018 After it tears through, turn the tube 180* and try to get another fish or two, that's how I do it. I'd be pretty happy with 5 fish per bait. Quote
