Super User soflabasser Posted May 17, 2018 Super User Posted May 17, 2018 Congratulations to Jam Ferguson for catching a 5 pound, 4.6 ounce black crappie. Quote
Super User Darren. Posted May 17, 2018 Super User Posted May 17, 2018 Holy Cow! That's a monster crappie. Dang! Congrats to the guy. Quote
Super User Gundog Posted May 17, 2018 Super User Posted May 17, 2018 You could get a couple dozen fillets out of that monster. 3 Quote

Super User N Florida Mike Posted May 17, 2018 Super User Posted May 17, 2018 Dang. That thing is a beast. Quote
jr231 Posted May 18, 2018 Posted May 18, 2018 What's awesome to think about is there is always a bigger fish out there than the records... 5lb crappie is nuts. 1 Quote

Well said @Yeajray231. Many people said it was impossible for a fish bigger than the current black crappie record to be caught yet it looks like the record has been broken again. Other records will fall for sure as time passes and I hope the largemouth bass record gets broken by a young man or young woman who just fishes for fun. 2 Quote

Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted May 21, 2018 Global Moderator Posted May 21, 2018 It was indeed from a pond in Philadelphia. Not the Philadelphia you are thinking of, this one has a human population of a couple thousand I would guess haha Quote
Super User JustJames Posted May 21, 2018 Super User Posted May 21, 2018 Shoot, I can't even catch a tiny one. Quote

Super User Ratherbfishing Posted October 17, 2018 Super User Posted October 17, 2018 Yowza! And I thought my 16 inch Crappie was big. This one could have eaten mine for lunch! Quote
ratherbfishin1 Posted October 17, 2018 Posted October 17, 2018 For a split second there I thought that was a bass! In my defense the glare from the sun is on my screen...? If I caught that I don't think I would realize it was a crappie and would have thought I had found a new species. Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted October 17, 2018 Super User Posted October 17, 2018 IGFA has the new record listed as 19.25" long by 17.75 girth regarding the measurements. Quote
SWVABass Posted October 18, 2018 Posted October 18, 2018 Beautiful fish, congrats to the angler!!! Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted October 18, 2018 Global Moderator Posted October 18, 2018 Another world record for the volunteer state! I believe TN now has the record for black crappie, smallmouth bass, walleye, drum, skipjack herring, yellow bass, ohrid trout, bighead carp, spotted sucker, and most surprisingly, whitetail deer (not sure how that Happened) 1 Quote

Not so proud to have the bighead carp record. 1 Quote
