detroit1 Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 Just wondering how many gallons of gas you've bought for your boat this year. I used about 25 gallons, for 41 trips . 8-) 16' deep v alum/50hp Evin. I know that some of you guys may use that it 1 day... Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted November 11, 2007 Super User Posted November 11, 2007 I don't really keep track of it. My boat holds 55 gallons of gasoline and I have topped it off 10-12 times so I guess around 400 gallons in the boat and it takes more than that to get to and from the lake. Quote
ABC123 Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 11 gallons of gas, many hours on the trolling motor. 9 gallons of gas in the truck. I live in a county with 72 lakes, atleast 14 of them are considered "prime" lakes. ;D Quote
Super User Jimzee Posted November 11, 2007 Super User Posted November 11, 2007 560 gallons would be my best estimate. Quote
frogtog Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 Claimed about 4400 last year. I got back .22 cent per gal on non highway taxes. Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted November 12, 2007 Super User Posted November 12, 2007 Claimed about 4400 last year. I got back .22 cent per gal on non highway taxes. That's like 968 bucks. Not bad froggy. I claim everything I can to. Quote

TopDog Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 About 40 bucks....a 25hp 4stroke sips gas lol! Quote
RobbyZ5001 Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 I have that beat.. my 25 hp motor wont run flat out so I idle and go slowly so I used about 30 bucks this season. I was restricted this year to certain parts of lakes. Also fished a lot of trolling motor only lakes :'( Quote
bassboy1 Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 About 5 gallons. 4 horse really sips it. Quote

Super User Tin Posted November 13, 2007 Super User Posted November 13, 2007 Not too much, 40 hp 2-stroke mercury. Spent about $15 a weekend depending if I was fishing electric ponds or no, which is about 4-5 gallons. So probably about 65-75 gallons this year. Quote

The Next KVD Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 Not much in the boat. I'm guessing 120 gals for the boat that has a 90hp Yamaha 2 stroke. That # would be alot lower if i didn't fish tournaments because then i run wide open (6000rpms at 46.7mph). Otherwise at 4200 rpms and 33.1 mph is fast enough for fun fishing. Otherwise my belief is if ur not on the trolling motor than ur not catching fish. Thinking of switching out to a 90hp Mercury Optimax. The real killer is driving to the lake in which I think i used about 600 gals. Quote
