TxHawgs Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 Place I bought mine had the 3 packs none of the pre rigged 2 packs. What sz Double Take hooks should I have bought? Bought the 5/0 1/8oz and the hook is so close you cant screw in the lock very good and when putting it in water w the 1/8oz it doesnt seem to want to float. Should I have bought the weightless hooks and can u cast this thing w those hooks? Thanks Quote
Super User Catt Posted May 15, 2018 Super User Posted May 15, 2018 They come rigged with the 5/0 hook ? Quote
Super User Gundog Posted May 15, 2018 Super User Posted May 15, 2018 If they sink with a weighted hook you have 3 choices as I see it. Keep your rod tip higher, move the bait faster or use a weightless hook. Quote
shovelmouth83 Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 that is odd i didnt know they did prerigged. i would go weightless and it works easier than any weighted. Quote
CaptPete Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 I use standard 5/0 screw lock style hooks(single hook), both weightless and 1/8oz belly weight. I never thought of them as "floating"... weightless, rod tip up, moderate retrieve will keep it on top though. This time of year, I have best luck with 1/8th oz weight and running them just below the surface. Quote
BassObsessed Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 That's my go to frog. I use the 5/0 double take weightless and you can cast it far. 1 Quote
