Are you ready for this story?  When I was a young pup and showing off to some girls, I jumped up on a horse out in the field with no bridle halter or saddle and was galloping him back to the barn.  Well, he decided he was going to go into the barn and there was really nothing I could do but duck (which was fine).  The barn was constructed out of corrugated steel (like corn storage bins/silo's) and all would have been fine......except........on our way in, there was another horse coming out.  The two collided and it threw my horse up against the unfinished steel doorway, cutting in behind my leg bone and severing my calf almost completely off.  I pushed back off the horse and was hanging upside down by my impaled lag....until the tissue ripped and I fell to the ground where I could plainly see both my leg bones and my calf held on by a strip of skin.  Long story short....all of that pain I could handle.  It was when we got to the small town Doctor's office where I discovered what real pain was.  I was laying on the table and he comes in and asked what happened.  I told him the story and he informed me that he was going to have to clean the wound, which I understood.  What I wasn't prepared for was him flopping my leg open and squirting Lux Dishwashing soap directly in my leg and scrubbing it with a brush.  I prayed that I would pass out.  I didn't.  It hurt.  Really Hurt.  I actually bent the rails on the table from the pain.  And to add insult to injury, I still got a staff infection in it and spent all summer in the hospital with a machine hooked up to my leg that circulated hot water through it to try and help with the infection.  I was 1 week away from them taking my leg at the knee.  Thanks be to God it finally cleared up in that final week.

2nd worst.....Migraine.  Throw up, pass out migraines.  Haven't had any more for a few years.  Doctors gave me nitrous pills to put under my tongue when I felt one coming on.

3rd worst......Impacted tooth/dental.  I had a Dentist give me a shot of Novocaine directly into the nerve of a tooth he could not deaden one time.  Only once....never again.

With the exception of a couple guys on here we should all feel thankful that no mothers have came on here and simply said "try giving birth". That would make most of us look like a bunch of cry babies. ?

When I was born I was a Frank breech birth. (Look it up). Sorry mom!

Kidney stones. 50 of them.

50?  FIFTY??!!!!!!! Good Lord! I thought one was bad!  If I had to experience 50 of them I'd almost be willing to have both kidneys yanked and go on permanent dialysis.  I'm kidding, of course, but holy schneikies!!!!

I was admitted to the hospital for my first bout, as i thought that one of my organs had exploded and i was dying. That was the same day i found out that i was allergic to opiates, as they pumped me full of them and I was beyond sick. Since then, i haven't touched a painkiller for any stone. I can tell when I'm going to pass one, so i find a quiet place where i can moan and groan, along with an occasional scream, without anyone around to hear me. I found a method that helps me to pass them in around 30 minutes to an hour usually. My body cannot break down certain proteins, so I'm super prone to them, and opt to not take a daily drug.

Blood blister under my finger nail.

No,  the blister wasn't the real pain,  it was my own stupidity.

I've always heard to use a drill bit to relieve the pressure.  So I threw one into the chuck of my 18v drill. Started to go to town,  got through nail,  only for drill bit to catch,  turn sideways,  crack nail,  and you guessed it I drilled directly into my finger.

The blood poured out.  Only time in my life I thought I was going to pass out.

Next time heat up a pin or needle or small nail until it glows red. It will burn right thru the fingernail and relieve the pressure.

The recovery from having my labrum reattached was pretty bad in terms of pain.  But the worst pain would be when I had surgery to fix sleep apnea.  The shaved my top pallet, removed my uvula and tonsils, then cauterized the inside of my throat.  I couldnt swallow anything (food or water) for 2 weeks and was coughing up blood the entire time.  Good Times!

That's a risk/reward decision.

The worst I ever had was a spinal fusion L4 to L5..

It took a full 3 months before I could lay flat or walk upright again, and now I need to have L3 fused to L4!! Which I'm trying to put off as long as I can.

Number 2 on my list would be getting old!

When they say, " what you do when you're younger, you'll pay for when you get older".

Believe Em!  ?

That's what I'm scared of. At almost 35 I'm starting to feel the separated should injury from hockey 15 years ago in my right one, and I can barely throw a baseball or football anymore because my left shoulder is messed up from baseball. I'm not looking forward to the next 30 years. ?

I have used a small bit also. I did not use the drill. Spun the bit with my fingers.

Tip if I may...

You know your limitations, you know what you can and cannot do.

Don't push it.

I dont mean to baby it for the next 30 yrs, just dont over do it. Listen to your body.

I learned that the hard way.

I have had gout in both feet, shattered my elbow and now I'm recovering from having a massive and lonely cancerous tumor removed from my right colon. All three are pretty painful but I think walking with a gout flare up is the worst pain I have ever had.

During my hospital stay, they said I had a kidney stone at some point in the past as well which I passed on my own, I'm guessing that was the pain that had me in the fetal position on my mom's couch this past Christmas.

I broke my left forearm in 13 places, rolled it up. I jumped 4' off a stone wall and landed on a 19th century handmade square nail sticking out from a board buried in the grass. Thru my foot, they had to clean it out, ouch. Nothing even compares to kidney stones. Nothing.

Oh...forgot about this one.

We had to fly back to Oregon for my daughters funeral and two days before I had an infected tooth that needed to be pulled.  Well long story short the medication they give you in advance wouldn't work as I was leaving in two days.  So the day before we were to fly out I'm in the dentist chair and getting shots for pain.  Come to find out that the infection was neutralizing the shots....sooooo.....I got my tooth pulled basically without any pain killers.   Let me tell you that this was and is a leg straightener.  The dentist....nurse...and myself were sweating bullets....OMG

That one made me shutter a little. Most things I can read or watch no problem, but knees, Joe Thiseman type leg breaks, and teeth make me shutter. ?

Hope you didn't damage the nail. Those are antiques and in high demand.

I missed the last three games and missed tryouts for baseball so I had all the time to heal. But my 17 year old dumbs$$ though I was 10 foot tall and bulletproof and didn't do the rehab and physical therapy I was supposed to and I'm sometimes reminded. My good friend in schools dad was a doctor and said it would be arthritic no matter what and would start to bother me by 40.
