I usually get to Hunting Run a few times a year, but I haven't been down there since October.   I do like it a lot, though.  I never learned anything good about Motts and after one mid-summer visit, seeing the mass of humanity and talking to skunked anglers, I never gave it a shot.  I knew there was a Ni River, but never even knew about a rez.  I'll have to check it out.  Keep an eye on the NOVA thread.  Hunting Run gets some love in there.

Lake Mooney is overpopulated with bass. You will catch TONS of 8-10" bass there. The Virginia DGIF encourages people to keep a limit of 5 undersized bass, in talking to their actual agents they want people to keep all that they catch but that would upset too many people. That lake has FABULOUS structure and once the bass population gets back in balance the forage should thrive and the size of the bass will improve.
