ground_sniper Posted May 9, 2018 Posted May 9, 2018 specifically out of everglades holiday park, new to the sport and curious. See some people like bass, some reserve it only to catch and release. Also, knowing the everglades history and current conditions, wonder if it's even safe to really eat from there. Quote
Super User soflabasser Posted May 10, 2018 Super User Posted May 10, 2018 There's nothing wrong if people want to keep bass from the Everglades as long as they have a Florida freshwater fishing license and they follow the slot size. With that said I don't eat any fish from the Everglades and don't plan to since I catch plenty of grouper, snapper, hogfish, lobster and other delicious seafood. Quote
Super User geo g Posted May 11, 2018 Super User Posted May 11, 2018 Mercury levels are high especially in bigger bass in the everglades. I would not eat them or allow any of my family to eat them. Lots of better tasting fish available in Florida salt waters. Quote
