What size and type of line?

If the spool is too full, over 1/16 from the spool rim, it can cause this problem if small diameter line.

Had this issue with an older shimano reel of mine. While annoying, once I freed it there were no issues. In my situation the gear that spins the handle had a slight knock to it. I also noticed that the spool had a larger gap on one side, regardless of how tight my tension was. Do you have any of the same things going on with your core?

If you have a gap between frame and spool either or both are scrweed frame could be bent or spool could be bent ...roll the spool on a flat surface with a light shinning on it you will see any imperfections  frame a diff storry only takes a hair to cause  a gap and hard to pinpoint where its bent
