Super User Jimzee Posted November 4, 2007 Super User Posted November 4, 2007 You guys that fish in a boat while the snow is flying, do yo ever worry about the motor freezing up. :-/ The reason I ask is this year I am still fishing when I have normally winterized the boat. Some of the mornings around here have been pretty chilly lately. (around 25-28 deg.) I really want to try to get as much fishing in as I can but I worry about the motor freezing on me. :-/ I let the water out of the lower unit at the ramp and trim it all the way down when I get it in the garage. Do I really have a reason to worry about this if I'm getting the water out? :-? I hate cold weather!!! > Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted November 4, 2007 Super User Posted November 4, 2007 I lower the motor when I trailer it, raise it back up and lower it a second time. This gets all the water out. Then I go home put it into the garage. I have never winterized a motor. I use it as often as I can so I don't use stabilizer in the gasoline either. I have never had any problems. Quote
