They are very durable as well. I’m very hard on them and they still are holding up.

My go to for quality for cheap is gonna have to be Strike King, they make some really nice pair of shades. The more expensive that I like are Costa and Oakley.

I like Native sunglasses you can change the lenses on the fly. I use green mirror grey and amber.

Do us all a favor and avoid the Luxottica/Essilor owned brands at all costs (e.g. Oakley, Costa, etc.). Buy something from an independently owned company.

Native eyewear company is privately owned and based in Colorado. I Just orderd a pair of 3rd party lenses from fuse lenses they are half the price of the native lenses. I will tell you guys how thay compare when i get them.

Actually, Native is not privately owned. It is owned by Costa Inc., which was bought by Essilor (link below). So, they’re another one of the Luxottica/Essilor brands now. Really bummed me out because I was looking at them as a replacement for Costa sunglasses. My search continues.

I have some Yum glasses that were like $5 at Wal-Mart and some other glasses that I got at Target for around $20. Can't bring myself to spend $100+ on sunglasses.

Costa

Oakley

I prefer Costa in Green Mirror. I wore Oakleys in college for baseball and you cant go wrong there either.

Be sure to get a set of keepers as well.

Love my Costa 580Gs in Green/Mirror.

This is my second pair. The rubber on my first pair came off after years of use and abuse and I also had a scratch on the lens. Since it was a discontinued model they sent me a new pair of my choice. Great warranty and customer service on top of a high quality product.

I really like my Oakley Flak 2.0s with prizm lenses.  The lenses make everything look extremely vivid, almost surreal.  In comparison to my polarized raybans, the amount of color/detail that I can see I think is significantly higher with the Oakleys.

I also like that the frames are light/comfortable/flexible.  Good for fishing glasses that may get some wear and tear.  Always afraid to beat up the RBs.

Am I missing something?  Why the hate for Essilor?

Thanks for the Cocoon recommendation!  I called them up, told them what I was needing the glasses for and they recommended amber lenses with green mirror tint.  I just ordered a pair since I have prescription glasses.

I have tried several higher end brands and my favorite is currently Costa.  I have the amber 580g lenses and they are unbelievable.

I’ve tried on the styles they make that I can find locally. Haven’t been able to find one that fits my face well, but they’re on the short list. As are Wiley X. Really like the ANSI certification that they carry.

Just do a Google search on Luxottica and you’ll end up knowing more than you probably want to about the whole situation. They’re a borderline monopoly, and they drive the price of both prescription glasses and sunglasses up.

Just got my first pair of Costa's, the fantail in 580p in gray lenses. Love these so far. I was using Oakley Fuel Cell's before and the difference is night and day.
