Peter Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 Looking at getting one or the other to pair with a 7ft medium heavy rod to use for spinnerbaits and maybe some jigs. Which would you say is better and why? Quote
Gilly Gals Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 interesting topic, would love to see what others think about this because i have a friend getting into fishing and was planning on having him buying a caenan but I also considered the fuego. Quote
Jelvas Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 I´m mainly a Shimano guy, they just flat out work for me, but... between those two i would go with the Fuego all day! Metal frame vs Graphite frame, external adjustable brakes vs internal only... It´s just more reel for your money. 1 Quote
Beetlebz Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 What's your budget? I ask because if you hunt for the eBay deals you can get a casitas way below what you can get a caenan or fuego for at retail. My last casitas I grabbed for around 85 bucks. It's currently my favorite beater/workhorse reel. For what it's worth you can get the fuego and caenan cheaper too, but my point being you can get more reel for the money. Between the caenan and fuego specifically I'd have to go fuego. It's feature limited compared to the tatula but those magforce Z brakes are hard to beat. Quote
kschultz76 Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 No brainer. Fuego CT and don’t look back. Quote

Why compare a Casitas from ebay against a Caenan or Fuego at retail? I have found the Fuego for just under $56. Have to check daily, tho. 1 Quote

I have several reels in the $100-150 range. It’s just that a lot of the areas I fish are difficult to get to and my equipment gets banged up going through brush and stuff to get there. I’m just trying to set up a beater combo that will get the job done and I won’t be worried about banging it up and dropping it etc. I can get both under $60 that’s why I chose between the two. Quote

For your $60 budget i would go fuego for sure. In fact I've been looking at them myself. Quote
Super User burrows Posted April 27, 2018 Super User Posted April 27, 2018 I rather have another casitas then a fuego any day!!! I’ve cought plenty of 5 pounders on it and there is no flex it palms really nice cast weightless plastics a mile and you can upgrade it with an mgl spool. 1 Quote
DRT Posted April 27, 2018 Posted April 27, 2018 I cant personally speak to the caenan other than what i've handled in stores, but I recently purchased the fuego ct. I can say that I'm more than happy with my fuego. It feels very solid and well built. Its my first experience with the magforce z braking system and i'm very impressed with its effectiveness and ease of use. Like I said, ive only handled the caenan in stores so it might not be the best representation of it, but in my opinion it felt cheap and plasticky. Quote
