So....long story short, due to a retail situation/screw up for me, they are offering me 45-50 pct off any rods and reels today only.

Was only looking for a crankbait setup, but now Im considering an extra Legend Tournament or something. I already have some LTB dropshot and LTW jig rods, an Avid X and some elite techs. Dont really NEED more than just a good cranking setup....but now is the time if I do.

I was staying low in my crankbait selection like the Fury or Premier, but with the discount, they are now waaay cheaper, but so is the upgrade to a Champion or an Avid. Now Im all flustered haha, since I have to make the call fast, and I usually take my time deciding...

I was thinking of getting things that rarely go on sale at stores or ebay. (Dobyns, St croix, etc)

What to get for the mid depth cranks, mostly 3/8 to 3/4 oz? Is the upgrade now worth it or just get the lower models even cheaper now?

Get the Avid MHM in 7’. It will handle most all crank baits with ease. Great stick .

Probably a great time to buy, but thats probably still more than I could justify spending.

With that deal, buy  H conquest, sell it to me for 400.00, apply the profit to an avid x MHM....will send you the money upon request ?

In my next life, I will go nowhere near sporting goods retailing.

I just quit Dick's today.  Horrible customer service on something I purchased but had lost the receipts to...after I spend several hundred with them over the year on fishing gear.  All I wanted to do was a direct exchange for fishing line in the same brand and type, just different test...nope.

Edit:  a more experienced manager actually called me personally to rectify the situation by offering to do my exchange and even providing me with a gift card.  They've won me back lol.  All I look for in a business is being confident that I'll be taken care of in a reasonable way. This reassures that over the previous decision.

I will avoid being political but just say dicks is not winning any new customers in the news.

You just reminded me we're not supposed to air grievances on here...it was really my fault for not supporting smaller businesses and at least ones geared directly toward outdoors (which I mainly support, just happened to take advantage of black friday/winter sales at several retailers).
