I bought some Cabelas casting reel covers about 10-12 years ago.  They never really fit that well and are a pain to get on/off.  Has to be some new product since then that is much improved.  What’s the best out there for ease of use (beside a Crown Royal bag ?!?)

I've been using the SF covers from amazon. They come in a 3 pack for $14.99. They're pretty easy to get on and off. I like them, because you can get the line strung through the rod. Some of them aren't open at the front and that's a bit of a chore.

A 2 pack of dollar store black cotton socks. Enough for 4 reel covers. Cut a hole in the toe end to slide over the butt of the rod. Just slide the open end over the reel.

Never bother for one, even the reels that come with cover I still have them brand new in original boxes.

I like the tackle warehouse covers.  They come in actual left and right models as opposed to just using the same cover for both.  Also they are like $4.99 each.

That's actually really clever.

You wouldn't believe the crap I get from my son over it  "You'll spend two grand on a scope, but you won't buy a $10 reel cover".

Nothing is better than a Crown Royal bag, nothing!!!!! Seriously I thought I was the only one who did this until your post. Great excuse to buy a bottle because you need a reel cover.

A little tip from me. Different flavors of Crown have different color bags. For example Crown Royal Maple has a brown bag rather than the regular purple. Helps differentiate your reels.

Honestly if you're just trying to prevent boat rash in your rod locker.. who cares what it looks like?

Shimano covers here as well. Very easy on and off.

I have a few of the Rod (Reel) Glove covers and they seem to work ok. They are thicker neoprene but not as easy to slip on and off as the Shimano covers.

My issue with TW covers is the velcro wears out very quickly.  I bought 3 of the SF neoprene covers very similar to the reel gloves mentioned above and love them.  Solid design and they work both with the reel mounted with line, or in my carry on bag when traveling nice snug fit.

@punch I've never sold a reel but I have nephews and nieces that have gotten into fishing and they've all received hand me downs when they get serious.  I like to keep my gear looking and performing flawless when I gift it to the next generation.  No better way to keep a youngster out of trouble than having them enjoy the outdoors.  Who am I kidding it's my way of justifying the bait monkey winning all the time.

Reel glove.  It's the only reel cover that allows for line coming off your reel.  I'm getting ready to order some...

These guys are the best, I have slowly gotten covers from them for all my rods and reels.  They are slightly more fussy to put on then the TW covers, but they fit a lot more snugly.

Reason I ask is that I’ve never had a rod get damaged while in the rod locker Tubes.  But I had a long trip to Canada 10-12 years ago and bumpy roads.  The rods were fine but the reels clanged together the whole way.

A couple had major repairs and all of them were pretty skunned up.  Bought new stuff since then and always cover them now when traveling but the old style reel covers I have are a pain.

I look forward to looking into the options above.  Thx everyone...
