For largemouth I usually wear my hair in a pompadour

I had a pompadour for about 6-8 months back in my 20's.  One of my roommates was a stylist and she insisted.  It was not an amazing look and the hairgel costs about killed me.

Go bald...low maintenance and reduces drag when you need a few extra seconds on the water. :P

Who loves ya baby! The man that made bald cool, Telly.

I still have a full head of hair. I get a haircut once a month. Wash it, a dab of Brylcreem and comb and I am ready to go. Hair styles and shaving are becoming a thing of the past it seems. Most guys around here prefer chin and head stubble. Everyone looks the same.

Amen brother......and for those young guys who call the barber their stylist (even if it was a woman i would call her a barber) sounds like they're on their way to becoming a little feminine.  (Seinfeld reference: Not that there's anything wrong with that!) You will never hear me say i'm going to go to the stylist to get my hair done....no no no...i'm getting a haircut at the barber....gotta keep some kind of the manly stuff alive! Come on young guys!

Clunn ponytail worked for him.

Tom

I'll second that...haven't cut my hair in several decades, and pulling it back in a ponytail works great with a baseball type hat...just poke it through the opening in the back and ta-dah you're ready to face the world! If you don't have ponytail holders (no rubber bands please, they break off your lovely locks) you can always use a rod wrap to contain it!

It also helps keep the hat from flying off in a stiff breeze out on the water.

Hubby used to have the old "white walls" cut around the ears thing but at my prompting grew it out to ponytail length. He's "follicly impaired" on top and wears a hat most days, and it looks pretty darn good.

Oh, and bass really dig the long flowing "hair jig"!!!! :P

This 1 x 10^1000000000000000000.

If I were drinking something as I read this, I would have spit it all out onto my monitor. The only thing that would have made this better is if it were animated and the words revoked faded in and panned forward, increasing in size, after a loud sound of an old school stamp (think those old date stamps), lol.

Really? I love going to the barber. That warm lather, straight razor clean up. So relaxing, and it doesn’t hurt that the barbershop walls are covered in fishing stuff!

I'd say this is correct.  Most people, as in 50% or more of the population... but men... men go to the barber.

Real men, go to the bathroom and use either the #1 or #2 guard and trim off whats left around their ears lol.

Married men, clean up the mess (if they want to stay married :S )

(Read line one with with as much joking intent as you want.)

Well, at 60, I don't have too many issues with hair! I wear caps a lot too. When I was younger it made a difference. Now, I don't worry about it. I get a haircut once a month and am good to go

+1....well, except the 60 part  :)      Bought clippers and once a month my wife takes puts a number 2 comb on them and its done in about five minutes.

What’s the difference between a “hair stylist” and a barber?

...

About $20.00, lol.

I lived near or on military bases in my youth. I liked going to the barber on base. They cut your hair quickly and neatly. I too recall getting the shave down with a barber’s razor and the tuning they’d do on a leather strap. It was so cool. I was ten and didn’t even have peach fuzz for whiskers yet.

When your say 13 -> however old before you get married and realize you can't be checking out the "stylist" while she clips away at your hair... a lot more than 20 bucks lol.  Now, I'm old and happy.  Not young and huntin' lol.  Hence clippers and a broom :D.

I have good memories of going to the barber in White Bear Lake, MN when I was young, before my mother remarried.  From about age 10-14, after school on haircut day I would walk from school to the barber shop, get my hair cut, then I'd get to sit and read comic books until Mom picked me up on her way home from work in St. Paul.  The barber always had all of the latest Superman, Batman, Flash, etc., as well as Archie, Richie Rich, and the rest.  It was a treasure trove for a kid who could never afford to buy them at a dime each.  Sitting and reading about my superhero's latest adventures, and listening to "man talk" in the shop was an enriching experience for a kid in the late 50's.

This may seen like a really weird question, but...

I am going to be away from home many weeks at a time. This may mean I won't be styling my hair everyday. I also wear hats a lot and want to know what hairstyle is best for being maintenance free but still looking good. Buzzcuts don work because i have odd and will trim my hair everyday, and will never be able to grow it to short/medium length again.

im thinking of something slicked back...

I had to check my calendar to see if last Friday when @Quarry Man posted this was April 1st....

4/20 is an equally plausible explanation

Whats this hair cut thing you speak of? I let mine grow almost two years ago. The only one that complains is family, but they are speaking on deaf ears. I use to get a flat top, but I was sick and tired of dealing with tying to be the norm. My hair is mid chest level, and its really only 10 more minutes of work per day. Plus the old lady loves it. Its not going any were for a while.

If mine is long enough that it gets smashed down while I'm sleeping, I know it's time for a haircut. #1, 1/8" setting, run over it a few times, check the mirror for stragglers, guard off to clean up around the ears and sideburns, have the wife get the back of my neck. Whole process takes 5 minutes and I'm good for a week or so.
