It took a couple of years to find out that green pumpkin Senko's actually do work because I figured, "What do those BassResource guys know? My water is green. A bass would never see that worm". So see...I'm kinda hard headed. I've also never believed in "Miracle Lotions, Potions, or Notions". Until today, I guess. I finally broke down and bought some KVD Line & Lure Conditioner. Just finished treating all my gear. WOW! Holy smokes, does this stuff work! 12 lb Big Game is like butter. Fluoro just wilts and even my 50 lb Mega8 KastKing Braid is smooth as silk now. Baits just fly off my rods. I can't believe it took me this long. Well...yeah, I can. *see above* Glad I got the big bottle. This stuff is amazing. 5 Quote

The only other thing I will add is that I have seen comments stating that it should never be used on Braid. Not true. Line & Lure is a special polymer blend that becomes part of the fishing line it is applied to. Other line treatments you find on the market are primarily silicone oil and solvents. Silicone oil only temporarily coats the line and solvents can damage line. Silicone oil rapidly comes off the line (on your hands and in the water), requiring re-treatment of the line after just a few casts. The special polymers in Line & Lure are hydrophobic (water repelling) and very slippery. It doesn't allow water to draw back on to the reel spool, which eliminates the line drag that a "wet" spool has. It also protects the line from wearing out as quickly as un-treated line because it resists the abrasion that wears line out. It contains no oils or solvents as in Reel Magic that can build up and collect dirt like silicone/oil treatments will. Quote

But I do spray them with KVD Line and Lure occasionally... Quote

Reminds me to make sure I use it every time Honestly, I don't know if I'm strategic or just super lazy (definitely lazy) but I don't spray my reel down until I get to the lake and start rigging up now. I used to spray it the night before. The truth? I don't even notice a difference. Quote

I was reading customer reviews on Amazon and got some chuckles: "Helps keep line soft and casts lures better due to enhanced line viscosity." (viscosity is a property of liquids, and I've never seen "liquid line") "Makes for easier casting & the line doesn't break." (Really... it makes the line "break resistant"?) Most of the reviews make more sense than these, and are firmly positive. Guess I'll have to try some. Quote

Since, the elemental bonding is so very tight and the line is impermeable to water and most liquids, what is the operative advantage here? I "get" how it would likely alter absorbent monofilament lines and make them more manageable. Even a few casts, a few minutes in water will do that, make monofilament lines softer (weaker, too). But, what of fluorocarbon? Wouldn't the conditioner, regardless of brand, just form a film around the outside of the line? If so, how does this help? Friction-related matters??? Brad Quote

Try it, and you'll see what the buzz is about. It's as required as hooks are for my fishing. Every spool of line gets pretreated, and any rods used get treated after every trip. I don't know why it works nor do I think it makes line unbreakable or any such nonsense. I liked the product so I posted so other skeptics might try it too. For now, I know what happens when you soak an uncooked spaghetti noodle in water; and, I know what happens when you soak a piece of wire coat hanger in water. But, I'm open minded. This will be fun and if it increases the range of how I use fluorocarbon line, it'll be a big pay-off. Brad Quote
