JLopez0128 Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 Hello everyone, I just went out and bought my first Baitcaster which is a Abu Garcia Revo X. I have been looking around for a rod to pair it with but I'm fairly new to the whole pairing a rod and a reel together (Normally just buy a cheap Way-Mart Combo). I have been searching the internet for ideas and thats how I ended up here, my price is about $100.00 so far I've found the Abu Garcia Veritas that I thought about pairing it with but I want to have some other inputs on recommendations. Thanks a lot everyone! Quote
optimator Posted April 18, 2018 Posted April 18, 2018 You'll get a lot of recommendations for a Dobyns Fury. Nice rods. 1 Quote
Cak920 Posted April 18, 2018 Posted April 18, 2018 Veritas is a nice rod and I like mine however there are complaints of them snapping. I have a St. Croix Bass X that I LOVE. I just bought a Dobyn Fury which feels good but I haven’t fished with it yet. Out of all the rods I’ve owned at the 100 dollar mark the St. Croix Bass X is my favorite. A lot of people love the Dobyn Fury rods so I’m looking forward to trying mine. Quote
JLopez0128 Posted April 18, 2018 Author Posted April 18, 2018 Thanks Guys, fixing to look into them now Quote
swimmingjig Posted April 18, 2018 Posted April 18, 2018 Try Tatula XT . Really good for the price. Quote
LionHeart Posted April 18, 2018 Posted April 18, 2018 Old style of Tatula rod can be had for $109 if you shop around online. The 7'2" Med-heavy "Regular" rod is a phenomenal rod for so, so many uses, and for that price everyone should own one IMO. 2 Quote

Cabela’s has the St. Croix Premier on sale for $99 and I’m debating on picking it up or not Quote
