pauldconyers Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 I am going to play around with pitching a 4" Rage Bug by Rage Tail. I will probably pair it up with a Gamakatsu offset EWG hook but can't decide if a 3/0 or 4/0 would be a better fit for it. What say you? 1 Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 I use a 4/0 Owner Twist Lock Flippin hook. Quote
mattkenzer Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 I use a Trokar Straight Shank Flippin Hook in (4/0 ..... I think ). Quote
pauldconyers Posted April 17, 2018 Author Posted April 17, 2018 Would you still suggest the 4/0 of I went up to the 4.5" size? Quote

pauldconyers Posted April 17, 2018 Author Posted April 17, 2018 I think I am going to buy two different colors of the 4" Rage Bug. One will be black and blue. The other would be either the green pumpkin or the Watermelon Red flake. Do you guys suggest one over the other or are they so similar it really doesn't matter? Quote

Very difficult to get two fisherman to agree on the same color ..... I think the majority (51% ) would suggest Green Pumpkin first. Don't worry, you will own the Watermelon shortly. Quote
Super User Choporoz Posted April 17, 2018 Super User Posted April 17, 2018 I have a 4" Rage Bug rigged nearly always. Accounts for probably more fish than everything else I use...combined. I use Gamakatsu 1/8oz weighted 3/0 ....almost exclusively. I've gone to Owner hooks for most other uses, but for Rage Bug (and Cut-R) the Gammy 3/0 weighted is perfect size, gap, etc. I do use owner CPS pins, or generic hitchhikers, though. I use greens mostly, and throw in some bama craw and black to mix it up sometimes. But, I'm not too particular about the color...its all about the action....Whites always on hand for use as chatterbait trailers. 1 Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted April 17, 2018 Super User Posted April 17, 2018 4/0 EWG Two more colors I'll add to the mix: PB&J and Okeechobee 1 Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted April 17, 2018 Super User Posted April 17, 2018 4/0 EWG Gamakatsu ~ A-Jay 1 Quote
