I love to see the Tennessee football fans in the stands when the Vols lose. They are almost as bad as the Bamasux fans.

 

So LSU had a three game baseball series in Baton Rouge with Tennessee this past weekend and LSU won the first two games easily.

 

But on Sunday the Vols jumped on the Fighting Tigers 7-3 going into the bottom of the 9th.

 

Guess what happened? The Fighting Tigers posted 6 runs in the bottom of the 9th inning with a three run home run to end the game and LSU prevailed 9-7 to sweep the series.

 

It was great seeing the Tennessee players walking around all confused, scratching themselves and fixing their cups as the Tigers went wild at home plate.

 

Don't you just love when this happens to your favorite team in any sport???

Actually, I don't enjoy seeing young people upset after giving their all at something only to fall short.

 

Now, if you are talking about the loser adults who live their lives through college sports teams while never having played any sport at said university, then I guess it would be funny, but only funny because they live such a pathetic life that the failure or success of a group of kids somehow defines them.

I have secretly enjoyed that for years with the Gators vrs Tennessee, and Kentucky, in football. It's like there is no way they will come back and win, but in the last few seconds the Gators somehow pull it off , or the vols or wildcats find a way to lose.This year was another prime example.It's kind of strange, because I don't think I can name 5 people from either one of those states that I don't like. I think with Tennessee it really started for me when lane kiffin was there and acting like he usually does. I love the state and the people but really dont care for the vols.( although I love Rocky top )

The team I really grew up hating Was the Miami hurricanes, but that's a whole 'nuther story!

But I know there's a lot of Gator haters out there too.

I think every school has a number of spoiled and obnoxious fans . Especially Bama.

Somebody has to win and somebody has to lose. Being a fan of your school is great and when there is a great comeback the enjoyment magnifies itself.

 

Nothing to do with their life or basing their success on what the team does. But this is the way it is in the SEC where you have the best teams and players in all sports.

 

Sometimes your team wins and sometimes your team loses. It is part of southern culture.

So glad I'm not caught up with all this watching and living through sports.  I realize some can't get out and fish and enjoy the outdoors so this is what they do....myself....well...Praise God I can go fishing and golfing (with wife).  When I'm done with this it's honey do's and then bed.  Not enough time to sit on my back side and let others depict my moods.

I actually watched that game. Although I didn't have a dog in the hunt, it was an entertaining game none the less. Good teams will find a way to win against bad pitching. That's baseball.

Tennessee will have their days again. Just like Clemson needs another De shuan Watson. I mean Kelly Bryant is a good Qb but he can't do like Watson did. You could always pick Florida gators. They need Tim Tebow back.

River, we at LSU don't hate the Vols.

 

But we remember when they were great in most sports, especially football, and drummed our fannies each time we played.

 

Wife and I had a fantastic trip to Knoxville for an LSU-Tennessee football game. It was when the women's gym burned down during the game. My wife wanted to leave but I told her we had to watch the game and we stayed in the stands with the smoke, embers and fire blazing away. It was great!!!!

 

Also love Dollywood and the surrounding areas. Been to Bristol raceway a few times, too.

 

It is SEC sports and we get to poke fun at our brother institutions as long as we are in the SEC.

 

Tennessee football is on the rise and they should start getting better each year now that they have a good coach.

 

Time to go fishing!!!!

Yep. SEC and ACC football seems to be the two best football conferences.

 

I also know that Clemson really wants a trip to the College World Series and win a National Championship. But it is difficult playing baseball in the ACC and getting a favorable regional and super regional to punch your ticket.

 

This football season, with the coaching changes, should be another fun one to watch.

Like Oregon native I don't get all wrapped up in sports or worrying about who wins or loses. The bad thing around here is people think it is okay to make death threats against people for talking bad about Kentucky wildcats. They aren't the ones out there playing the game.

@TnRiver46 Just to set the record straight, we stunk last year too. I really don't hate Tennessee or any other team. There are an equal amount of horrendous plays we made last year. I actually have watched The Vols fan base stick it out with the lackluster results lately. Trust me, I know the feeling.

As far as Georgia goes, we had beat them several years in a row, so they were due to win one eventually...?
