Even if he won every tournament, he'd be hard pressed to afford flying the rig around. https://www.google.com/search?rlz=1C5CHFA_enUS777US777&biw=1312&bih=690&tbm=isch&sa=1&ei=9krRWvGbDY3I5gKt5aeoCA&q=camp+lemonnier+navy+boat+airforce+plane&oq=camp+lemonnier+navy+boat+airforce+plane&gs_l=psy-ab.3...121672.140080.0.140222.41.32.1.8.8.0.191.1803.31j1.32.0....0...1c.1.64.psy-ab..0.20.879...0j0i67k1j0i24k1.0.3FJCIT7nCmc#imgrc=MBQQrPcd5TwzmM: 1 Quote
gbassman519 Posted April 14, 2018 Author Posted April 14, 2018 lolol was just wondering how they get those riggs to ea. tourney. that's got to be hard on them on the high way all the time. Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted April 14, 2018 Super User Posted April 14, 2018 I'd bet they don't do the driving on the longer trips if they can afford to have someone else drive it for them. Quote

Skeet pays a driver to haul his rig around to events. He flies in and out of places as necessary (home, sponsor appearances, etc.). Quote
frosty Posted April 14, 2018 Posted April 14, 2018 On one of the FLW circuit breaker episodes JT Kenny was talking about how much it cost just for fuel for the boat and truck, I think it was upwards of $20,000! I imagine that’s why a lot of those guys are running Diesel engines, much better fuel economy than a gas engine and they handle the miles better. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted April 14, 2018 Global Moderator Posted April 14, 2018 I believe it's Gary Yamamoto that has a custom trailer that is hauled behind a RV that has 2 levels with his boat on top and truck on bottom. It even has custom rest for the power poles to deploy down on top of so they don't hit on overpasses or road signs. Quote
JT Bagwell Posted April 14, 2018 Posted April 14, 2018 I know tons of tour our pros from working with them over the years and most of them drive their rigs from tour stop to tour stop. They don't make enough money to be hiring people to do it or planes to fly it. There are some that will hire people to drive their rigs when it is a really long drive like let's say Alabama to California or something like that (that is just an example). Years ago Ish told me that he kept one boat in Georgia or Alabama and then another one on the west coast so he didn't have to haul a boat across the whole country. I am not sure if he still does that or not because I haven't talked to him in a long time. But for the most part, if you see a pro's truck/boat going down the highway, they are either driving or sleeping somewhere inside the tow vehicle. 2 Quote
