Tim Cox Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 Hey Folks, Quite excited as I start my first fishing trip this afternoon. The weather is going to be beautiful with 1 issue- a wind advisory. I'm wondering how that will play into lure selection and how I may work these baits. It's not a big lake at 72 acres, but I'm hoping all the trees that surround the lake help protect the coves from wind. Any advice? Quote
Super User Darren. Posted April 13, 2018 Super User Posted April 13, 2018 Good luck. Heavy jigs into the wind, otherwise cast with the wind at your back if you can. Use it to your advantage as best as you are able . Quote
Super User Ratherbfishing Posted April 13, 2018 Super User Posted April 13, 2018 Fish the North side of the lake where the water is likely to be the warmest. Jerkbaits are my recommendation. Fished slow. Quote
Lasher Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 High winds means Carolina Rigs with big sinkers for me, or heavy spinnerbaits. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted April 14, 2018 Global Moderator Posted April 14, 2018 Changes very little for me. We had winds howling Thursday night, gust near 40. I caught all my fish on a 3/8oz jig. Quote
